Songwriters Live is a network of quality showcase nights supporting prominent and emerging songwriters. Starting in Manly three years ago, the growth and popularity of these events has been nothing short of staggering. During this time over 400 artists have performed at Songwriters Live, including some of Australia's best such as Steve Balbi, Dan Rosen, Jackie Bristow, Butterfly Nine, Louise Perryman, Kevin Bennett and James Gillard, James Blundell, Sara Storer, Troy Cassar Daley and many more.
Organised and hosted by award winning singer/songwriter Keith Armitage, the event now operates in the following venue:
- The Old Manly Boatshed in Manly
All the artists perform free of charge and consequently there is no cover charge. We provide the artists with a quality PA and sound engineer, information flyers on the tables, a weekly promotional newsletter with nearly 2000 subscribers, a quarter page ad in the Drum Media, an inhouse photographer and of course this website. Artists need only bring their instruments, and leads.
Usually three acts perform a 30-40 minute original set each night, starting with soloists and duo's, moving through to bands as the night heats up.
How do I play at Songwriters Live?
New artists (in most contemporary styles of music) are selected to perform by submitting their demos. It is our aim to provide the highest standard of songwriters possible and an enjoyable night of entertainment. Artists interested in performing, submit your demos to:
